The Trainee Program offers U.S. companies the opportunity to host highly qualified, mature and bilingual trainees from Sweden on a J-1 visa. With a minimum age of 21, the trainee candidates have a Bachelor's or Master's degree or current University students, while others have already gained experience and specialized skills in their field. A training program may be from 3 weeks to 18 months.

Why hire a Swedish trainee or intern through the SACC J1-visa program?

Cost efficient - SACC-SF/SV advice the host company (but it is not required) to pay the trainee a stipend equivalent to the cost of living in the host company's location. There are generally no social security or medicine taxes for a J-1 trainee. The trainee generally pays his or her own insurance and travel expenses.
Qualified trainees - Well-educated, motivated and bilingual trainees for up to 18 months.
International presence - The trainee will bring a Scandinavian perspective to your organization.
Minimum administration - SACC guides you and your trainee through the application process and helps with the necessary documentation making the entire process quick and easy.

Host Company Requirements

Have an Employer Identification Number and Workman's Compensation Insurance
Provide continuous training and supervision
Have at least one fulltime employee working at the office where the intern/trainee will do the training.
The host company must be a SACC SF/SV Corporate- or Enterprise member

"When I heard about the offer from SACC SF / SV that they would avail an intern for one month, for free, to do a study of a subject of interest for the Business Member I immediately exclaimed 'fantastic! What a great multi-directional beneficial opportunity'. The intern get something challenging to attach and the Business Member gets help to study something that should have been studied a long time ago. I triggered immediately and got assigned Daniel Ahrenby, a newly graduated MBA from Stockholm. As I am doing business as a Distributor for a Swedish company I wanted Daniel's help to dig deeper into the products opportunities on the US market. We agreed upon a frame work and Daniel went to work. It did not take me long to understand that I was getting great work done by a very capable young man. The month passed and Daniel presented a study of about 20 pages. We had, of course, some meeting in between. What did I get out of the study?
