Get your morning off to a great start!

Business for Breakfast together with Ellen MacArthur Foundation

SACC-SF/SV invites you to an inspirational breakfast seminar with Isak Albihn, research analyst at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation

Isak will give a short introduction to the concept of the circular economy and the economic opportunities it represents. It will be followed by group exercises where the participants get the chance to brainstorm around new circular business ideas.

About the Ellen MacArthur Foundation
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation was established in 2010 with the aim of accelerating the transition to the circular economy. Since its creation the charity has emerged as a global thought leader, establishing the circular economy on the agenda of decision makers across business, government and academia. With the support of its Core Philanthropic Funder, SUN, and Knowledge Partners (Arup, IDEO, McKinsey & Co. and SYSTEMIQ), the Foundation’s work focuses on five interlinking areas: Education, Business and Government, Insights and Analysis, Systemic Initiatives, Communications.

About circular economy
Today’s linear ‘take, make, dispose’ economic model relies on large quantities of cheap, easily accessible materials and energy, and is a model that is reaching its physical limits. A circular economy is an attractive and viable alternative that businesses have already started exploring today.

A circular economy is restorative and regenerative by design, and aims to keep products, components, and materials at their highest utility and value at all times. The concept distinguishes between technical and biological cycles

The Foundation has consistently outlined a tremendous economic opportunity to transition to a regenerative model that can work long term, providing robust evidence about the benefits of the circular economy : in the fast-moving consumers good sector it detailed a 706 USD billion of net material cost savings per year, globally.
