We are delighted to welcome new Chairwoman, Helena Starkenberg Kristersson, to SACC-SF/SV. With a career that spans twenty years and includes experience within a variety of industries, Helena brings multifaceted and deep knowledge to SACC-SF/SV. She has many years of experience working as a management consultant and holding leadership positions within marketing, sales and communications at a number of internationally recognized companies, including Arla Foods, Ericsson and communication agency Kreab.
Helena has also been the CEO at two startups and at Swedish construction companies, and has been the head of communications at the Institute for Environmental Medicine at Karolinska Institutet, one of Europe’s largest and most prestigious medical universities.
Helena moved to Silicon Valley with her husband Magnus in 2013 and she fell in love with the Bay Area at first sight. Having lived abroad with Magnus and their three children for several years, she thoroughly enjoys the international vibe of the region which contributes to its dynamic and inspirational business environment.
Commenting on her new role, Helena says, “I assume the position as Chairwoman of SACC-SF/C with a sense of inpsiriation and positive momentum. This is a time of unprecedented opportunities for the Chamber and I look forward to guiding the organization through this next phase.”
The new SACC-SF/SV Chairwoman is particularly excited about developing the Chamber’s brand, expanding its international network and strenghtening cooperation with Scandinavian organizations in the Bay Area and beyond. She also looks forward to engaging more young professionals in the Chamber’s activities — incorporating their ideas and creative spirit — and producing inspiring meetups and events in San Francisco and Silicon Valley by building on the success of SACC-SF/SV’s current event series.
“Today, SACC-SF/SV does a tremendous amount of work across a broad spectrum of business and social touch points. I am amazed at the quantity and quality of work that is output by the Chamber staff with the assistance of our dedicated board and volunteers. I see so much potential in this organization and I feel very excited about working together to further advance the services that we provide to our members and the expanding business community that we serve.”
