Please join us for a special discussion with professor Dag Blanck from Uppsala University as he discusses the relationships between the countries and the fluctuations in Swedish emigration to the United States. According to the U.S. Department of State, “Relations between the United States and Sweden are built on a shared heritage that dates back to 1638 when the first Swedish immigrants arrived on the shores of Delaware.” With such a long-standing history, Mr. Blanck will discuss the current landscape and thoughts on the future.

Mr. Blanck will also discuss the subject matter of a book published this year, where he has discussed Swedish perceptions of the United States over the last two centuries and US academic influences in Sweden.
