Scholarship at Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce San Francisco and Silicon Valley

The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco and Silicon Valley is proud to announce our scholarship program with the donor Sten A. Olsson Foundation and in cooperation with the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. Do not miss this unique opportunity to be part of the cutting-edge setting that is the Bay Area today. We are looking for a proactive, ambitious and result-oriented scholar to join our team for one year starting in end July 2022 and ending in June 2023.

The Business Development and Marketing scholar will live in San Francisco for a year and actively participate together with the other interns in the work of the Chamber of Commerce – Business Delegation Visits, event planning, content creation and seminars. The scholar will focus on SACC-SF/SV´s relations with companies in the Bay Area and Sweden along with creation of Communication and Social Media Marketing strategies and activities to enhance participation and engagement, increase partnerships and market reach.

The Scholar will collaborate with other interns to coordinate SACC-SF/SV’s larger events throughout the year. The student will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of international trade and business relations at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Read more at

SACC-SF/SV are looking for a structured and proactive person, with an outgoing personality and a record of leadership and related extracurricular experience. The person is a recent graduate or currently enrolled in the Business and Economics program or in the master of Laws program at University of Gothenburg. The applicant should have completed two years of the Program at the minimum in the end of spring term 2022.

This is an annual one-year scholarship beginning in the end of July 2022 and ending in June 2023 of SEK 200,000. You must be a Swedish citizen eligible for a J-1 visa to be considered for this position.

Job Description
ProGuard Security Services is seeking a Marketing Intern to join our team and contribute to our expanding business model.

Create online content and presence, based on company’s brand positioning and audience insights. Tell creative and compelling stories to educate audiences about security services.

Initiate online marketing campaigns, such as user-generated content campaigns, to drive traffic and sales.

Develop web content for the company’s website. Initiate social media outreach campaign through platforms such as Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

Generate content, newsletter, marketing material, video content etc.

Create and manage the editorial calendar to ensure timely publishing.

Contribute critical feedback to streamline project management and content creation.

Work on the development of a industry conference.

Project Coordination Internship​​​​​​​

Remotely, 10 -15 hours/week
​​​​​​​Job Description
The intern will be responsible for finding and securing sponsoring companies for a Forest Innovation Summit in San Francisco, which will take place in October 2022. Part of the role is to assist in the project management with operational activities such as content creation, writing agendas, and contacting speakers. The intern will also be responsible for maintaining and developing standards & procedures related to the event. Additionally, the role includes working with action plans. The intern will work closely with two other interns and a group of business executives which requires excellent communication and team-working skills in English.

This remote internship is possible to combine with full-time studies. The internship has no monetary compensation, as SACC-SF/SV is a non-profit organization. As an intern abroad, you may apply for scholarships. Some students, depending on the university program, might also be eligible to receive student aid from CSN. The internship begins in December 2021 or January 2022, depending on the availability of the candidate. It is important that the intern is available until the summit in October 2022.  We encourage interested applicants to apply as soon as possible.

Memberships & Business Development Internship

Starting Q2 or Q3 for 6-12 months, full time & on-site in San Francisco.
Job Description
The Events & Membership intern is responsible for coordinating both membership events and events that reach outside the network. The events differ in size and form, ranging from webinars and smaller gatherings to larger conferences or delegation visits from Sweden. The intern will be responsible for both the organization and the technical aspects of the events and will work closely with the marketing intern to secure sponsorships. The intern may also have the opportunity to assist with project management for specific internal or external projects. 

Part of the internship is to work with third-party tools for organizing and maintaining the SACC-SF/SV website. The intern will be responsible for the membership service, including keeping track of the membership database and interacting with both individual members and business partners. The role includes working closely with the SACC regional network in order to find synergies and create connections that benefit the overall Swedish community. 

The intern will report directly to the Executive Director of the Chamber and will work in close collaboration with the other interns.
